DoCHECK! team members concluded their second in-person meeting with a gathering in Athens, Greece, where all partners participated to discuss the project’s progress.
The meeting, held on October 27th, began with a thorough review of the progress achieved thus far and the presentation of a detailed report to the European Commission, summarizing the activities of the first year.
The analysis included a revision of the work packages, as well as the activities undertaken by each partner. These activities encompassed focus groups and working sessions dedicated to methodology development.
The event also facilitated discussions on the adoption of best practices and tools to combat misinformation, with participants sharing valuable insights and experiences to enhance collective strategies. Notably, there was a strong commitment to producing Open Educational Resources (OERs) tailored specifically to school students.
The program entailed reviewing and contributing content to these resources, ensuring alignment with the needs and comprehension of young people in the digital era. Consequently, this exchange fostered the creation of a manual geared towards parents and educators, consolidating the resources aimed at addressing misinformation in educational and familial settings.
In addition to technical aspects, financial and administrative matters were also tackled to ensure the project’s sustainability and ongoing effectiveness.
DoCHECK!’s second international meeting in Athens highlighted the global commitment of these organizations in the fight against misinformation. By collaborating and sharing knowledge, they lay the groundwork for a unified and effective approach to protecting future generations from the dangers associated with false information.
